This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Travel Plus More collects when you use www.travelplusmore.com (the "Site") or the Travel Plus More app for Android (the "App"), why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have over it. The App is another way to use the same service and the same account, so what this policy says about the Site also applies to the App unless we say otherwise; section 10 explains what the App keeps on your phone. Please read it together with our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.
1. Who we are
Travel Plus More is an online travel agency based in the Arab Republic of Egypt, operated by E-booking 365, a company registered with the Egyptian Tax Authority ("we", "us", "our"). We are responsible (the "controller") for the personal data described in this policy.
If you have any question about your data or want to use your rights, contact us:
- Email: info@travelplusmore.com
- Phone: +20 100 993 0271
2. The data we collect
When you create an account
- Your name, email address and password. We store only a secure, one-way hash of your password, never the password itself.
- Optionally, your phone number and nationality.
- Your preferred language and currency, and the date and time at which you accepted our Terms and this policy.
- If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, name and email address. We do not receive your Google password.
When you make a booking
- For every guest: title, first and last name, nationality and date of birth, and, where the hotel or the destination requires it, passport number, issuing country, issue date and expiry date.
- For the lead guest: email address and phone number.
- Which guests stay in which room, and any special requests or notes you add (up to 500 characters).
- The hotel, dates, room, price, cancellation policy and booking reference, and the booking details our Supplier sends back to us.
When you pay
- The amount, currency, payment status, date and transaction reference, and the payment provider's response, which may include limited card details such as the card type and the last digits of the card number.
- We never receive or store your full card number or security code. You enter them only on the secure payment page of our licensed payment provider.
Things you save
- Travellers you save to your account to book faster next time (their name, date of birth, gender, nationality, passport details, email and phone, if you enter them).
- Hotels you add to your wishlist.
When you contact us or join our newsletter
- Your name, email address, the subject and message you send, and the IP address it was sent from.
- If you join our newsletter from the Site footer, your email address.
- Our replies and the emails we send you (for example confirmations and password resets) are recorded, including the address, subject and content, so that we can resend them and handle complaints.
Business (agency) accounts
- The agency's name, tax number, contact details and the details of the person who applies for the account.
Technical and security data
- When you use the Site, our servers automatically record your IP address, the pages you request, the date and time and your browser type.
- For security we record sign-ins, failed sign-in attempts, password resets and account changes, together with the IP address, browser and email address used.
- After several failed attempts, we may ask you to complete a security check (CAPTCHA).
Data stored on your device
Some data is stored in your own browser rather than on our servers. See section 10.
3. Why we use your data, and our legal basis
- To provide our service and make your booking (performing our contract with you): creating your account, searching for and booking hotels, passing guest details to the Supplier and the hotel, taking payment, sending your confirmation and voucher, handling cancellations, changes and refunds, and helping you before and during your stay.
- To keep the Site and your account secure (our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and misuse): security logs, limits on repeated attempts and security checks.
- To meet our legal obligations: keeping accounting and tax records, and responding to lawful requests from the authorities.
- To answer you (our legitimate interest, or at your request): replying to your messages and complaints.
- With your consent: analytics cookies, where you accept them (section 10), and marketing emails, where you ask for them (section 9).
We do not sell your personal data. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Who we share your data with
We share only what each party needs for the purpose described:
- The Supplier and the hotel. To make your booking, we send the guest details listed in section 2 (names, title, nationality, dates of birth or ages, passport details where required, the lead guest's email and phone, and your special requests) to our wholesale travel partners and, through them, to the hotel. They use this data to provide your stay, under their own privacy policies.
- Our payment provider. We send the payment provider the booking reference and the amount to charge. You enter your card or wallet details directly on its secure page.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google, to confirm your identity.
- Service providers who run the Site for us: our hosting provider (servers, databases and backups), our email provider (sending account and booking emails), Cloudflare (security checks, where they are shown) and an error-monitoring service that helps us find and fix technical faults, which receives technical error reports from our servers with personal details removed.
- Maps and images. When you view maps and some hotel photos, your browser loads them directly from third-party servers (for example OpenStreetMap for map tiles, a public content-delivery network for the map software, and the image hosts), which receive your IP address and browser details.
- WhatsApp. If you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, the conversation is handled by WhatsApp under its own terms.
- Authorities and advisers, where the law requires it or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- A buyer or successor, if our business or part of it is ever sold or reorganised, under the same protections described here.
5. International transfers
Our Suppliers, hotels and some of our service providers are located outside Egypt, including in the country of your hotel. When you book a hotel abroad, your guest details must be sent to that country for the booking to be possible. Where we transfer data outside Egypt, we do so only as needed to provide our service and as permitted by the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law, and we take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected.
6. How long we keep your data
- Account data is kept while your account is open. If you close it, we remove it as described in section 8.
- Bookings and payment records are kept for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal purposes, even after you close your account. When you close your account, we keep these records but remove the personal details of you and your guests from them.
- Saved travellers and wishlist items are kept until you remove them or close your account.
- Messages you send us are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any follow-up. You can ask us to delete them.
- Security logs are kept for as long as they are needed to protect the Site and investigate misuse.
- Data exports you request (section 8) can be downloaded for 7 days.
- Backups of our database are kept for up to 14 days and are then overwritten.
7. How we protect your data
- The Site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. Password reset links expire after 60 minutes.
- Our staff can protect their accounts with two-step verification.
- We limit repeated sign-in attempts, temporarily lock an account after repeated failures and may ask for a security check.
- Only our staff who need your data to do their job can access it.
No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident is likely to affect your personal data, we will tell you and the competent authority as the law requires. On a shared or public device, please sign out when you finish.
8. Your rights
Under the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020), and other data protection laws that may apply to you, you have the right to:
- know what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- get a copy of your data;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your data, or restrict how we use it, where we have no legal reason to keep it;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it, without affecting what we did before;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- complain to the Personal Data Protection Centre in Egypt, or to the data protection authority in your own country.
How to use them
- Correct your data: update your profile in Account, or contact us.
- Download your data: in Account → Privacy, choose to export your data. We prepare a file (in JSON format) with your profile, your bookings and their guests, your payment records, your saved travellers and your wishlist, and email you a link to download it. The link works for 7 days.
- Close your account: on the Site, go to Account → Privacy, type DELETE and confirm with your password or, if you signed up with Google, with your Google account. In the App, go to Account → Privacy & data, type DELETE and confirm with your password; if you signed up with Google, close your account on the Site. We then delete your saved travellers and wishlist, remove the personal details of you and your guests from your bookings and from the emails we sent you, anonymise your account and sign you out on every device. We keep the anonymised booking and payment records as explained in section 6. You cannot close your account while a booking is still being processed; please wait until it is confirmed or cancelled.
- Can't confirm? Email us from the address on your account and we will close it for you.
- For any other request, email info@travelplusmore.com from the address on your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we will answer within the time the law allows.
Data we have already passed to a Supplier or hotel for a booking is also held by them under their own privacy policies. If you ask us, we will pass your request on to them.
9. Marketing
We do not currently send marketing emails. We will send you offers and news only if you ask for them, for example by joining our newsletter, and you can stop them at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. Emails about your account and bookings (such as confirmations, payment links, reminders and password resets) are part of our service and are sent whatever your marketing choice.
10. Cookies and data stored on your device
Essential cookies keep the Site working and secure:
- a session cookie, which expires 2 hours after your last activity;
- a security token (XSRF-TOKEN) that protects your forms against misuse;
- a language cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) that remembers your language.
Your browser's storage. To make the Site work and remember your choices, we also keep some data in your browser's local storage on your own device:
- your signed-in session (so that you stay signed in until you sign out);
- your cookie choice and your currency;
- your wishlist, recent searches and destinations, recently viewed hotels and your hotel comparison list;
- whether you have dismissed the prompt to install the Site as an app.
While you complete a booking, the guest details you enter (including passport details) are kept in your browser's session storage so that you do not lose them between steps; they are deleted when you close the tab.
Analytics. Only if you accept cookies in our banner, and only where we have analytics switched on, we use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used, with IP anonymisation. If you reject cookies, we do not load it, and if you later withdraw your consent we remove its cookies.
Changing your choice. You can change your cookie choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. You can also clear this Site's cookies and site data in your browser settings, which removes everything listed above from your device. Our Cookie Policy gives more detail.
The App. The App uses no cookies, advertising, analytics or tracking, and does not ask for access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos. On your phone it keeps only:
- your sign-in token and your account details (such as your name and email address), in your phone's encrypted storage, until you sign out;
- your language and currency, your last search and your recent searches, and your wishlist;
- the guest details you enter while you complete a booking (including passport details), in the App's memory only: they are never written to your phone and are gone when you close the App.
When you share or open a booking voucher, the App saves the file in its temporary storage first. Payment takes place on our payment provider's secure page, opened inside the App. Hotel photos are loaded directly from the image hosts, and Open in Maps hands the hotel's location to the maps app on your phone. Uninstalling the App, or clearing its storage in your phone's settings, removes everything listed above from your phone.
11. Children
Accounts are for adults aged 18 or over. A booking can include children, and the adult who makes the booking gives us the children's details (such as name, age or date of birth, nationality and, where required, passport details) only so that the hotel can accommodate them. We do not knowingly collect data from children in any other way. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make significant changes, we will let you know by email or on the Site.
